Create a URL Preview

Ahoy, matey! I reckon you're here to learn facts and information on your website journey to URL previews. A URL is a cute three letter acronym that stands for Uniform Resource Locator. A URL is a unique web address that directs you to a specific website or webpage on the internet. It's like a street address for online locations, making it easier to find particular information. URLs are essential for browsers to access various resources like HTML pages, images, CSS files, exc. You get the drift 🌊.

When you share a link in a message, email, or on social media platforms like on Facebook messenger or Instagram a small preview often appears. The preview determines the most relevant information from the page and displays it to the visitor without them needing to click and open the link first. This small preview showing a brief description or visual basically helps users get an idea of what the link contains before clicking on it. If you didn’t know, now you know ^_^

A URL is made up of (3) main parts:
• Scheme: The first part of the URL, which specifies that the browser will open a webpage. AKA the scheme can be either http:// or https://
• Domain name: The name of the your website, organization, person, or company that owns the site
• Path: Numbers or the words that take you to a page from a website

Option #1: guteurls.de

This is alot easier than using the frames code and is free to use. The instructions on the website are pretty simple so I don't feel like I have to type out the step-by-step process on how to do this. If I find others are having trouble figuring it out i'll write it out step-by-step in the future. ANYWAYS, you can use this for webpage previews as well as other previews such as youtube videos ^_^
For reference the actual website to get the url preview box is this:

Option #2: FRAMES ONLY for this code

Creating a URL/HTML preview seems easy enough but depending upon your sites CSS, Borders, Layout, exc. It may not work the way you think it will. I was going to use this code for my blog posts, but it seems rather non beneficial for me. I still think this would be beneficial to others though.

** EVERY site is different, you'll have to experiment with what settings work best for you, i've created bullet points which I address here:

This is the style code:
