How page speed affects your website loading time
SO I couldn't figure out for the life of me why my Neocities "screen shot" was just my plain light green background. It took me weeks to figure out it really is a screen shot and can only capture your site in a certain amount of time. Basically my site speed was taking so long to load it could only screen shot the background. If you don't have this problem YAYYY YOU. Lol, but if you've been in this situation this was my approach to success.
Clearly you can see this is what my profile picture on Neocities use to look like... LAME lol.
So then after much googling and chaos I found this website page speed. Pagespeed.web.dev It tells you alot of information via your site on mobile or desktop. Clearly I have alot of things I need to work on my site also, judgement free zone please, lol. You can go to that website and enter in your own website for free.
OKAY so do you see in the screenshot above where it says all the time stuff? This was the amount of time it was taking for my site to load which is alot, lol. Notice how it shows as time passes on how long it takes to load and what it captures in the process.
It also gives you tons of other diagnostics which was super useful. Using this site helped me figure out all the stuff I had on my index page was decreasing my website loading time. Sigh. Now it's pretty plain and boring but I have a Neocities picture now so I guess that's good, lol. Hope you found this useful.
