Things I didn't know until I moved to florida

Just gathering a list of things I didn't know about until actually moving to Florida. If you're thinking about moving to Florida you should probably read this, lol.

Transportation via Driving

Many of the Florida parking lots (but not all) are angled.

Florida has alot of driving traffic circles aka roundabouts.

Transportation via Train

Depending upon where you live in Florida there is limited transportation via train stations and there is only 19 of them.
- Deerfield Beach station
- DeLand station
- Delray Beach station
- Fort Lauderdale station
- Hollywood station
- Jacksonville station
- Kissimmee station
- Lakeland station
- Miami station
- Okeechobee station
- Orlando station
- Palatka station
- Sanford Atlantic Coast Line Station
- Sanford station
- Sebring station
- Tampa Union Station
- West Palm Beach station
- Winter Haven station
- Winter Park station

Food

Food is different in Florida. I've found that the major cities such as Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa, Orlando and St. Petersburg generally have better tasting food in those areas. Yet, that's just my personal opinion. Of course there are varities of restaurants as well that are good, you just got to figure it out for yourself and make sure to read food reviews. I prefer yelp reviews but some people sware by google reviews, to each their own.

Florida Winter

Florida does have a winter. Winter season is apparently December to February but it's honestly just cold in December and January. It's February right now and the temperature outside is around 75* degrees.

Lawn Care

Depending upon where you live in Florida, you might not have grass and instead just a land of sand or a mixture of sand and soil. This is important to consider all the lawn work you want or do not want to do. If you prefer less clean up and easy maintance, sand may be the way to go for you. If you want a green lawn, plants, vegetables and fruits prepare to do some work. I have a mixure of sand and soil in my yard and am going through the process, lol.

Hurricanes

Call me oblivious but I didn't know hurricanes in Florida was actually a seasonal thing. Hurricane season lasts June 1st through November 30th. Definitely something you should be aware of, lol. You will also want to have a ready to go incase of evacuation list of supplies as well as a hurricane supply list.

Animals

I knew that there were crocodiles, alligators, and lizards but holy hell there's alot out here. Some of the animals and insects I have seen are eagles, cockroaches, vultures, armadillos, sandhill cranes, and weird insects I still don't even know the name of. Maybe i'll make a second post and list everything i've seen but just be VERY aware there is alot of wildlife out here.
